CMT announced Wednesday that its “Breakout Artist of the Year” award for 2019 will go to Ashley McBryde. The presentation will take place at the channel’s “2019 CMT Artists of the Year” celebration, airing live from Nashville on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The award is being given out for only the third time, with McBryde joining the ranks of previous honorees Chris Stapleton (2015) and Kelsea Ballerini (2016).
McBryde received her first Grammy nomination this year, for Best Country Album, and won “Breakthrough Video of the Year” at the 2019 CMT Music Awards. She was also recognized as the Academy of Country Music’s “New Female Artist of the Year” and recently received a 2019 CMA Awards nomination for “New Artist of the Year.”
