One of the regulars on NBC’s “Today” show has been out of the lineup this week due to an eye injury. Savannah Guthrie called in to the show to explain what happened — you can see the video in the tweet below from the “Today” show Twitter account.
Guthrie said she lost her vision after her son threw a toy train that hit her in the eye. She said she tore her retina, causing her to temporarily lose vision in her right eye.
She discusses her condition in graphic detail in the clip below. Guthrie says she still hopes to host the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
