Philip McKeon, Former Child Actor, Dead at 55

Philip McKeon, a former child actor best known for his role on the CBS sitcom “Alice,” has died. McKeon died Tuesday in Texas following a lengthy illness, according to media reports. He was 55.

McKeon was the older brother of Nancy McKeon, known for playing Jo on NBC’s “The Facts of Life.”

Philip McKeon’s signature role was on “Alice,” where he grew up in front of television viewers playing Tommy Hyatt, the son of Linda Lavin’s title character, from 1976-1985.

He acted only sparingly after “Alice,” transitioning to radio work first at KFWB in Los Angeles and later hosting a radio show in Texas.
