The 10 Best Films of the Decade — One Critic’s List

Dec 6, 2019  •  Post A Comment

With the 2010s about to run out of time, the looking back on the decade’s best and worst movies, television, music and whatever has begun. One such effort published today is a list of the 10 best films of the decade compiled by The Hollywood Reporter’s chief film critic, Todd McCarthy.

Topping McCarthy’s list is Olivier Assayas’ 2010 release “Carlos,” which tracks the career of the international terrorist known as Carlos the Jackal. Says McCarthy: “‘Carlos’ was to international terrorism what ‘The Godfather’ was to 20th century American criminality.”

Also high on the list are “The Social Network” (2010) and “Inside Llewin Davis” (2013), while this year’s Quentin Tarantino release “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” cracks the list at No. 7. McCarthy says of the Tarantino flick: “It’s a wonder and a marvel in every respect.”
