O’Reilly Attacks GE

Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly verbally attacked General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt, claiming GE’s corporate presence in Iran is responsible for the deaths of American troops, the Washington Post reports. Only .01% of GE’s current income comes from business contracts in Iran, due to pressure from the public and shareholders, who worried about reports that said GE’s presence was providing weapons and training for Shiite militias, the newspaper says. However, the verbal attack on GE, corporate parent of NBC Universal, can be traced back to a long-standing feud between O’Reilly and MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, the newspaper notes.
