Christopher Gorham has been cast in CBS’ midseason drama “Harper’s Island,” the Hollywood Reporter says. The horror story centers around a group of friends who gather on an island for a wedding, with Gorham playing the groom-to-be, the newspaper says. Gorham is not expected to return to “Ugly Betty” next season, the newspaper notes.

Either Gorham is incredibly cocky in thinking he can leave a (somewhat) hit show to go to something that sounds mediocre at best – or he is a great family man unaffected by his ego and truly is putting his family first by staying in L.A. rather than moving to NYC with the Betty production. I hope it is the latter and hope Harper’s Island does well, but am not holding out much hope.
