Newsman George Putnam Dies at 94

George Putnam, a conservative commentator and a pioneer in television news, died at the age of 94, the Los Angeles Times reports. Putnam had been suffering from a kidney ailment since December and was being treated at Chino Valley Medical Center in Chino Valley, Ariz. Putnam is best known for his “One Reporter’s Opinion” TV newscast and his career at Los Angeles station KTTV-TV.
