The National Telecommunications & Information Administration is giving a mixed message about the digital-television transition, with its DTV2009.gov Web site telling visitors that the switch will happen on Feb. 17, while its “coupon program update” section notes the transition will take place on June 12, Broadcasting & Cable reports. An NTIA spokesperson wasn’t available to comment on why the message had not been changed to reflect Congress’ vote to move the DTV transition date to June, the publication says. As of Monday afternoon, the president had yet to sign the DTV date-move bill, according to a White House spokesperson, the trade paper says.
