CBS May End ‘Trace,’ ‘Cold Case’

CBS is considering canceling dramas “Without a Trace” and “Cold Case,” Entertainment Weekly reports, citing multiple unnamed sources. The network, in an effort to cut costs, has already warned producers of both shows that the cancellations may happen as a result of each show’s ratings not justifying the amount of money spent on production, EW says. Warner Bros., the studio behind the shows, is searching for ways to cut costs, including having cast members take pay cuts or forfeit annual raises the way CBS has asked actors on some of the series it produces to do, the magazine adds.
