CBS Orders More ‘Mother’ Scripts

CBS, while not renewing comedy “How I Met Your Mother,” gave it a vote of confidence by ordering four new scripts from the sitcom’s producers, TelevisionWeek reports. CBS usually waits until May before renewing “Mother,” but this year’s 33% increase in viewers makes it very likely it will be back.

  1. It sort of irritates me that “The Big Bang Theory” gets an early renewal (for two seasons, no less) while “How I Met Your Mother” is a hold off until May. HIMYM outperforms BBT in 18-49 and often times in viewership. I get that CBS needs “Two and a Half Men,” and thus have to take BBT as a package deal. But c’mon! Renewal for HIMYM is a no brainer.
