‘Motherhood’ Wastes Stars

In a review, USA Today says ABCs new sitcom “In the Motherhood” wastes its talented stars in a familiar way. “It’s not just that it airs bad comedies or comedies that flop; every network does,” the paper says. “It’s that ABC seems to keep making the same bad flop comedy over and over, with the same tone, the same approach and even some of the same people.” The show doesn’t work because it is based on outdated stereotypes, the Los Angeles Times says. But the Washington Post likes it, saying it is “based on recognizable human behavior” and features the “awesome twosome” of Cheryl Hines and Megan Mullally.
