Panelists at a session at RTNDA, the news directors’ show at NAB, said broadcasters should look at Twitter as a newsgathering tool, Broadcasting & Cable reports. Jennifer Reeves, the new media director at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Mo., told audience members that “As journalists we have to wrap our heads around completely new ways to have conversations,” the trade paper says. Kelly Hicks of KCTV-TV in Kansas City recommended using Twitter to give viewers an idea of how a news program is put together, the publication says.
