Guess Which Show Accounts for Greatest Number of FCC Indecency Complaints?

Tim Doyle, a reporter for consulting firm SNL Kagan, filed a Freedom of Information Act request to find out which shows get the most complaints at the FCC, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The winner? Not so surprisingly, it’s Fox’s “Family Guy.” A March 2009 episode of the animated show accounted for nearly 200,000 of the 1.45 million pending complaints the agency had at the end of last year. Other episodes of the show also received numerous complaints.

Another 150,000 complaints stemmed from a Fox football game in which a crowd shot caught an obscene message on a fan’s shirt.

  1. Way to go FOX! It’s no wonder you are in first place! You are providing what the majority of the people really want.

  2. This is a very deceptive statistic. It is severely distorted by organized letter writing/email campaigns to try and get the show off the air by right-wing extremists, and religious fanatics, as it causes people to question authority and think for themselves…Always dangerous concepts to these two groups.
