CBS is making thousands of fans unhappy with its plan to cut "Criminal Minds" co-star A.J. Cook and reduce the number of episodes for another female star, Paget Brewster, reports Nellie Andreeva on Deadline.com.

The plan came to light earlier this week.

The result of the fans being unhappy is an online petition that’s gathered at least 15,500 signatures, and which is rapidly growing, the article says. Among the signees is "Criminal Minds" co-star Kirsten Vangsness, who will be returning to the program, and actors Kevin Pollak and Paul Tompkins. Fans are also sending emails to CBS executives and calling CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler, the report adds.
