Gary Coleman may finally be laid to rest after his estranged parents dropped their mission to bury him in his native Illinois following the discovery of a 1999 will, the Associated Press reports.
"Of course it’s disappointing. We’d be inhuman if it wasn’t, but we’re not up for a fight," Coleman’s mother, Sue Coleman, said. "We just want him finally put away to rest." Coleman died on May 28 at age 42 after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
The will was written before Coleman moved to Utah and names an executor, Dion Mial, a former manager and friend of Coleman. Mial didn’t immediately return a call.
Coleman’s parents won’t seek custody of their son’s body, as they had planned after it was revealed that the former child actor had divorced his wife in 2008.
