A truly memorable event–and the last extensive public appearance by John Wooden–was “Scully and Wooden: For the Kids,” a charity interview featuring Vin Scully and Wooden at the Nokia Theater two years ago. The interview was oonducted by Los Angeles Times sports columnist T.J. Simers.
The show will be repeated tonight, Monday, June 8, 2010 after the Dodgers-Cardinals baseball game, which means approximately 10:30 p.m. You can find it on Fox Sports West (also referred to as Fox Sports Prime Ticket). Well worth it to set your DVRs.
Wooden passed away on Friday night at age 99.
Meanwhile, here’s a short video tribute from Kareer Abdul Jabbar and Bill Walton about Wooden. It was aired on ESPN on ABC on Sunday, June 7th, during halftime of the NBA Finals Game 2.
