The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) is developing shows starring a celebrity chef and a fashionista, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Chef Cat Cora and fashion expert Carson Kressley are working on show that will revolve around makeovers and transforming people, such as Cora’s pilot where she visits families who need to change their lifestyles to incorporate healthier eating, the article says. Shed Media of "Real Housewives of New York City" is producing.

According to the article, the network is also working on a show called "Confrontation: The Conversation," a program that tracks crime victims and offenders seeking closure.

Finally, OWN has also made some executive changes, the article said, This includes tapping former MTV programming veteran John MacDonald as chief operating officer and executive vice president of programming and digital. It’s also hired Rod Aissa from Katalyst Media and Michele Dix, who had been consulting for OWN, as senior vice presidents of primetime programming and development.

  1. Why all of these industry retreads/has beens? To me taking someone like Neil Sabin of Weigel Broadcasting (“ME TV,” “The U,” “ME-TOO”) in Chicago, all of which are highly profitable and creatively marketed would make more of a statement and risk taking that a new network such as OWN will need in order to launch AND last.
Plus, their studios are neighbor’s in Chicago’s West Loop. Mr. Sabin is a programming genius and has proven that what is old is new again.
OWN deserves to succeed so why not take a gamble on someone who has proven time and time again how to derive profits with old programs. Instead of tired out executives whose ideas were hot ten years ago?
I can only imagine what he could do given a larger budget and fresh programming concepts. Plus, the stations are neighbor’s of “Harpo.”

  2. Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

  3. Lindsay Lohan is eligable for the sentence of 1 year and that would mean that her doing about 45 days. She’s earned the longer time in jail and now we can all hope there’s a judge who see’s this.
