TNT’s telecast of Tuesday’s NBA tipoff game between the new-look Miami Heat and the perennial Eastern power Boston Celtics made cable history, according to SportsNewser.com.

The game attracted 7.433 million viewers and 5.339 million households, along with a 4.6 US rating, to become the highest-rated regular-season NBA game in the history of cable television, the story reports.

The lure of seeing the "three kings" of Miami–LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh–in their first regular season game was what brought viewers to their TV sets. The Celtics won the contest, 88-80.
