Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman, who has been known to vex the likes of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush with legal maneuvers, says his next target may be NBC, the New York Daily News reports.
Klayman says he came up with the concept for the legal drama “Outlaw,” and now he may take NBC to court over it, the story says. The show, which stars Jimmy Smits, has already been canceled by the network.
Klayman says "Outlaw" was one of the titles he had in mind for a law drama, and he did have a pitch meeting with NBC in 2007. Klayman claims that NBC added the Supreme Court angle to his idea, but essentially the show was Klayman’s concept.
Klayman also says NBC’s hit show “West Wing” had a character who was based on him, named Harry Klaypool, the story reports. Klayman suggests that the connection added to NBC’s interest in talking with him.
The attorney says he will try negotiating with the network before going to court, according to the story.
Anyone can sue anybody over anything.
This guy (Klayman) is like a gnat, buzzing around. He makes a lot of noise, but is just a pest.
The Bar should revoke his license.
If I were him, I wouldn’t have bothered. He should have just changed the title of his concept and tried to sell it again. Now he’ll never get anything for it — it got cancelled and any attempt to sell something now will be viewed as damaged goods that already failed.
