One of the stars of the original U.K. version of "The Office" has won the lead role of Bilbo Baggins in the forthcoming theatrical feature "The Hobbit," which will be directed by Peter Jackson, says Washington Post blog Celebritology 2.0.

And that star is Martin Freeman. According to the article, "The British actor is best known for playing Tim on the original version of "The Office." He also starred in the underrated "The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy" and appeared in "Shaun of the Dead," "Hot Fuzz" and "Love Actually," among other films."

Jackson also directed the popular and acclaimed "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
