A satirical story from the Onion–with the headline "The Onion: Frustrated Obama Sends Nation Rambling 75,000-Word E-Mail"–appeared on Fox News’ Fox Nation section of its Website on Friday, apparently confusing some readers, reports TheWrap.com.

Appearing alongside serious articles, such as a story with the headline "China Issues Warning Ahead of U.S.-South Korea Drills," the spoof story was marked as a "culture" story and remained on the site until early Friday evening, the article notes.

Some Fox News readers were confused, with one writing, "I can’t seem to confirm this story anywhere except Onion. If it is false, somebody needs to go to jail for it. If it is true, this dude is crazier than an outhouse rat and needs some serious professional help! Someone needs to get to the bottom of this story and produce some verifiable facts to decide which way it should go."

A Fox News representative didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment, the article notes.

  1. Fox strikes again! It seems they will report on anything that makes the president look bad without bothering to check the validity of the piece. Fair and balanced my ass.

  2. I don’t know why it takes something this outrageous for people to realize that Fox News is intending to be a joke and should never be taken seriously by anyone ,at anytime.

  3. You hit the nail on the head, Scott. As the Simpsons correctly lampooned the ignorance of the Fox “News” viewer. “We’re not racists, but we’re #1 with racists.”

  4. This was posted as culture, and it would seem to most that its intent was to provide some humor. The Onion story was pretty funny and was worth repeating.
There was a time when humor about Obama was entirely off limits. Now, even North Korea treats him like a joke.

  5. I would like to start my own blog one day. This was a really nice blog that you made here. Keep up the success 😛
