It has been a good week for former "Saturday Night Live" comic Norm MacDonald, with the latest announcement that he has inked a deal for a new cable show, TV Guide reported. The news follows the announcement earlier this week that MacDonald will take over for Gabe Kaplan as host of GSN’s “High Stakes Poker.”

The new show is "Sports Show With Norm MacDonald," on Comedy Central. The channel has reportedly ordered eight episodes, and plans to premiere the show in April. Each episode will be shot before a live studio audience.
