Lady Gaga was a big winner in the Grammy Awards, taking home awards for best pop vocal album and best female pop vocal performance. But much of the chatter after Grammys Sunday has been about the lead-up to the Grammys and her interview with Anderson Cooper on CBS’s “60 Minutes.”
Ken Tucker re-examines the event in Entertainment Weekly, pondering which of her revelations–including showing up in her underwear for an interview session and talking frankly about how she smokes a lot of pot and drinks a lot of whiskey when she writes–say the most about the singing star and about 21st century fame.
Tucker writes that Gaga “knows the narrative of contemporary stardom,” quoting the singer saying, “Everybody wants to see the decay of the superstar … what’s she going to look like when she [falls], when she overdoses. I’m not a vomit-in-the-club kind of girl.”
