Syfy Gives Second-Season Orders to Two Shows

Syfy has given second-season orders to two shows, reports Entertainment Weekly. The latest announcement is that “Being Human” will be back for another round.

The heavily female-skewing show has averaged 1.8 million viewers and has been Syfy’s most successful launch in six years of a scripted winter series, the story notes. Its audience is 53% female.

Syfy also gave a second-season renewal to an unscripted special-effects makeup show, reports EW.com’s Inside TV blog. The show is "Face Off," which has earned steady ratings across its first seven episodes,

The show has been averaging 1.4 million viewers when adding in DVR viewing, the story notes. Mark Stern, programming president at Syfy, noted that the show has been the network’s best unscripted franchise debut.

  1. Why not call it, “the wierd and crazy” channel? We lose all of the good ones, SG Universe, Caprica, SG Atlantis, and others I can’t think of, because I’m so p*$$ed off right now, and they keep these crazy a$$ shows. I’ve nearly given up on “Sy-Fy”. BLAH !!!

  2. I think they should call it the Fantasy Channel. After all, if they think what they’re airing is Sci Fi, then they’re living in a fantasy. I used to have something to watch on “Sy Fy” daily, but I haven’t seen the channel now in over a year.
