The FBI is investigating an incident in which hackers reportedly accessed Simon Cowell’s computer network, according to MonstersandCritics.com.

The hackers reportedly stole details on more than 250,000 "X Factor" entrants, the story says.

An email was sent to all contestants to warn them about the security breach, telling recipients, "It is possible that the information you did provide to us, which included your name, email address, zip code, phone number (which was optional), date of birth, and gender, may have been accessed."

The email warned contestants to delete email that appears to be from Fox.com or "The X Factor" if it asks for personal information, the story says.
