Ashton Kutcher’s salary for replacing Charlie Sheen on the hit CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men” will be about $1 million per episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which cites a Wall Street Journal article.
The deal was reportedly not finalized but was close to done. It was unknown whether Kutcher would share in back-end profits on the show, which has been television’s most-watched comedy.
Sheen was fired from the show in early March in a highly public and bitter feud between the actor and the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre. Sheen has publicly campaigned to be returned to the show, but he did not immediately respond to the news of Kutcher’s hiring.
CBS and the show’s producer, Warner Bros., were reportedly eager to have a replacement for Sheen on board before the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers, scheduled for next week.
