The star of a classic detective show has filed a lawsuit against Paramount and CBS Television Studios alleging he is owed millions of dollars in royalties, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Mike Connors, who starred in the successful 1960s and 1970s series “Mannix,” filed the suit Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Connors, now 85, earned four Emmy nominations for his lead role on the show. He is seeking a share of profits from the show’s long run in worldwide syndication.
Paramount and CBS reportedly say the show, which originally ran on CBS from 1967-1975, has been losing money. Connors is seeking a full accounting of the show’s profit picture, along with unspecified damages.
