Sunday Ratings: Three Hours of ‘Survivor’ Programming Win the Night for CBS

CBS’s “Survivor” finale dominated the night Sunday, enabling the Eye Network to claim a comfortable overall win in the ratings, TVbytheNumbers.com reported.

CBS averaged a 3.3 rating in adults 18-49 for the night, topping ABC (2.5 average), Fox (2.2) and NBC (1.7). CBS also led all networks in total viewers, averaging 12.4 million to ABC’s 8.9 million, NBC’s 5.5 million and Fox’s 4.9 million.

At 7 p.m. ABC’s "America’s Funniest Home Videos" was just ahead of CBS’s "60 Minutes," 1.8 to 1.7, in the 18-49 demographic, while Fox’s "American Dad" at 7:30 had a 1.7 in the demo, too. NBC’s "Dateline" collected a 1.1 average rating for the hour.

At 8 p.m. hour one of "Survivor" netted a 3.8 in the 18-49 demo, while Fox’s "The Simpsons" and "Bob’s Burgers" had a 2.5 and a 2.2, respectively. ABC’s "Extreme Makeover" followed with a 2.1 and NBC’s "Minute to Win It" settled for a 0.9 average.

The 9 p.m. hour saw "Survivor" climb to a 4.1 in the 18-49 demo, while Fox’s "Family Guy" and "Cleveland Show" had a 3.3 and a 2.3, respectively. ABC’s first hour of the season finale of "Desperate Housewives" had a 2.9, ahead of NBC’s "Celebrity Apprentice’s" first hour with a 2.3.

At 10 p.m. the reunion hour of "Survivor" capped the night for CBS with a 3.5 in the 18-49 demo. Hour two of "Desperate Housewives" had a 3.1 and "Celebrity Apprentice’s" second hour had a 2.5.
