At the Nomura U.S. Media Summit in New York, CBS Corp. President and CEO Leslie Moonves boldly predicted "huge numbers" for the fall premiere of "Two and a Half Men" with Ashton Kutcher as a new cast member in place of Charlie Sheen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Moonves said the show’s premiere could pull "AFC Championship-type numbers," referring to the NFL playoffs. That would be an average overnight household rating/share of 31.3/46, based on CBS’s broadcast of the 2011 AFC Championship Game.

Moonves also revealed that CBS Sports would not bid on the Olympics, saying it is not a cost-effective event for the network.

  1. There will be a lot of curiosity seekers tuning in due to the controversy of the former headliner, Charlie Sheen, the scandal behind the scenes and a look to see if Ashton Kutcher is the ’silver bullet’ replacement for Sheen. However, if Ashton seems like an ill-fit, he may detract from the show rather than strengthen it. According to some rumors, ‘Two & A Half Men’ men will end after next season. Perhaps a spin-off, after next season might keep the show going – ’Two Men In A Condo’ would show Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones moving into a three bedroom condo near Malibu. With Jon no longer required to pay alimony nor child support, he now finds himself paying for his son’s college with Angus sharing the condo. Ashton can do guest appearances along with Charlie Sheen. The premise is Angus’ character is a little dull on the academics and the foils of Jon’s character in dating. The housekeeper now out of a job, finds herself living with Jon and Angus, with Jon’s mother continuing to meddle. I’ll let the script writers of the show tighten it up. Granted, the series would have to get a summer tryout before getting fall or mid-season placement. – Mall 727 –

And it will be cancelled by January.
