After hiring two new cast members, NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU” is addressing confusion among fans of the show regarding the role of stalwart cast member Mariska Hargitay, reports EW.com’s Inside TV blog.
Hargitay is still slated to appear in every episode of "SVU" next season, the network says, even though longtime star Chris Meloni has departed and two new regulars have been added.
As previously reported, the show tapped Danny Pino of CBS’s "Cold Case" and Kelli Giddish of NBC’s "Chase" as series regulars.
An NBC spokesman said Hargitay will still appear in each episode, Inside TV notes. While the actress has said she wants to have more time with her family, the show’s producers will reportedly find a way to accommodate her wishes while having her character continue to appear each week.
