"America’s Most Wanted" ends its broadcast run on Fox this week after 23 years on television, and it’s possible the show will move to cable sibling Fox News Channel, reports the Associated Press.
The show’s host, John Walsh, noted the possibility, and a Fox News spokeswoman confirmed the network has had preliminary discussions with Walsh.
"I’m fighting hard to keep this franchise going," Walsh said. "It’s a television show that gets ratings AND saves lives, and we’ll find somewhere to keep going. We’re not done."
Fox has agreed to maintain the show’s telephone hotline and website, which the story says is essential to the TV show’s goal of receiving tips on fugitives. Over the TV show’s broadcast span, it has reportedly helped nab more than 1,100 fugitives.
