One syndicated daytime talk show stood above the rest as ratings came in for the first week of the new television season, reports the New York Post.

“Dr. Phil” averaged 5.2 million viewers and a 3.9 rating for the week of Sept. 12, a 34% margin over its closest rival, "Dr. Oz," which had a 2.9 rating, the story says.

The show was helped by Phil McGraw’s two-part interview with George and Cindy Anthony, the parents of Casey Anthony, which gave the show its biggest ratings week in more than two years, the piece adds.

"Judge Judy," meanwhile, was TV’s top-rated court show with 8.9 million viewers, the story says.
