Viacom-owned Paramount Pictures today announced a reorganization in which its DVD and Blu-ray disc sales unit and its online video licensing operation are being combined, Bloomberg reports.

Some staff is being relocated from London to Los Angeles as part of the move, and Paramount Digital Entertainment will be folded into Paramount’s interactive entertainment group, the story reports.

The new home video unit is Worldwide Home Media Distribution, which will be headed by Dennis Maguire, according to the report.

In a statement, Paramount Pictures CEO Brad Grey said: "This new structure will allow us to more effectively take advantage of worldwide opportunities, adjust to the changing marketplace and propel us forward on a unified, global basis."
