Spike TV announced that it has given a renewal to one of its original series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The cable channel ordered a 10-episode second season of the hourlong series “Bar Rescue,” the story reports.

The show, which tries to help failing nightlife establishments turn around their fortunes, has been increasing its ratings since its summer debut, the piece notes. The show’s episode last Sunday drew a series high of 1.3 million total viewers, compared with its debut audience of 742,000 in July, the article adds.

Production has started on the new season, which is reportedly set to air during summer 2012.
