"60 Minutes" icon Andy Rooney signed off from the CBS newsmagazine on Sunday night, telling his viewers, "I wish I could do this forever," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rooney, 92, also put out a plea to his fans: Revealing that he hates being recognized and signing autographs, he asked, "If you do see me in a restaurant, please, just let me eat my dinner."

Rooney’s "A Few Minutes with Andy Rooney" segment has been featured on the program since 1978. He will still make occasional appearances on the show, the story says.
