Following news that CBS has stopped production on "How to Be A Gentleman," as previously reported, the network has announced that beginning Oct. 20 "Rules of Engagement" will return to the Thursday 8:30 p.m. time slot, reports TVbytheNumbers.com.

CBS yanked the low-rated “Gentleman,” which appears poised for cancellation, from the high-stakes Thursday lineup after only two airings and relegated it to Saturday night as it plays out its run. Previously, "Rules" was set to premiere for its sixth season on Saturday, Oct. 15.

"Rules of Engagement" is expected to benefit from its lead-in, the top-rated Thursday program "The Big Bang Theory." Last spring, "Bang" and "Rules" anchored the Thursday night 8 p.m. hour after "Rules" took over the 8:30 spot where "$#*! My Dad Says" had run aground.
