Two days after she announced on television that she has breast cancer, a TV celebrity news host underwent a double lumpectomy, the New York Daily News reports.

Giuliana Rancic, an E! News host who also stars in Style’s “Giuliana and Bill” with her husband, is reportedly recovering following the surgery.

Bill Rancic appeared this morning on NBC’s “Today” to provide an update, saying Giuliana is “doing well.” He added: "It was kind of a long day. There’s many steps in the process when you go through this."

The story notes: “Giuliana, 37, began her treatment with a two-hour MRI where guide wires were inserted into one breast in order for the surgeon to know what area to remove. She then had a mammogram on the other breast and repeated the process. From there, she underwent a two-hour surgery to remove the cancerous lumps.”

Bill Rancic added: "Giuliana is a trooper. She pulled through it. She’s relieved to have it over with and get the cancer out. She’s doing well at home and recovering — and I’m adding nurse to my resume. She’s having fun with that."
