Creative differences behind the scenes at “Alcatraz” have brought about a big change in the lineup for the midseason Fox drama, Deadline.com reports.
Elizabeth Sarnoff, a co-creator and showrunner of the J.J. Abrams series, is leaving the production, the story reports.
Sarnoff, who was also an executive producer, is expected to receive an executive consultant title on the show, the story notes. She wrote the version of the time-travel series that was picked up to pilot and then to series by Fox, which has the show scheduled to bow at midseason, the piece adds.
The series, from Warner Bros. TV and Abrams’ Bad Robot, will now be co-run by Jennifer Johnson and Daniel Pyne, the story says.
Production of new episodes was put on hold a couple of weeks ago to do reshoots for existing episodes, as previously reported. Additional reshoots are reportedly in the works.
