Endemol — the company that produces "Big Brother," "Deal or No Deal" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” — has received a offer of $1.4 billion from Time Warner to purchase the company and help it reorganize its large debt, reports Deadline.com.
Time Warner is interested in making the deal because of the Dutch company’s success in developing international versions of its reality television hits.
The deal is contingent on the approval of several creditors. Another group, which includes Silvio Berlusconi’s Mediaset, has also made a cash offer to Endemol.
Four months ago, Endemol’s CEO Ynon Kreiz, exited the company. Besides Time Warner, ITV and News Corp. have been mentioned as possible buyers.
