Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton, who recently joined NBC News, will make her first on air appearance as a correspondent Dec. 12, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Clinton will be on "Rock Center with Brian Williams," reporting on a nonprofit organization in Arkansas. Chelsea’s father, Bill Clinton, was the governor of Arkansas before becoming the president of the United States.

In a statement, Chelsea Clinton said of her first report, "I hope telling stories through ‘Making a Difference’ — as in my academic work and non-profit work — will help me to live my grandmother’s adage of ‘Life is not about what happens to you, but about what you do with what happens to you.’"

"Making a Difference" is an NBC News franchise.
