A new show from Cesar Millan, the star of "Dog Whisperer," is being shopped around to U.S. networks, reports Deadline.com.

The show is based on a Spanish-language program called "El Lider de la Manada," or "The Leader of the Pack," the story notes. The show may shoot 12 episodes in April for a December 2012 rollout, the story says.

A network hasn’t been lined up yet, but there is interest in the project, the piece adds.

The show features Millan rehabilitating a homeless or abandoned dog, and then three contestants vie to prove who will provide the best home for the animal, the article notes.
