Keith Olbermann, who is in a standoff with Current TV, is also in a fight with a newspaper reporter, according to the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.

Olbermann lambasted New York Times reporter Brian Stelter for his coverage of Olbermann’s work at Current, the story reports.

Olbermann took to Twitter to harangue Stelter for what he claims was an attempt to threaten him into commenting on the record, the story says. According to Olbermann’s Twitter feed, the TV host wrote comments such as, "I’m sorry, but in denying he tried to threaten me into commenting on the record, @BrianStelter of NY Times is flat out lying."

Olbermann also called Stelter’s writing, "unsupervised pseudo-journalism by kids," with the article pointing out that Olbermann, at 52, is twice as old as Stelter.

As previously reported, Olbermann sat out coverage of the Iowa caucus amid tensions between the host and management at Current TV and lawyers for both sides were negotiating Olbermann’s role at the network.

  1. Stop hiring this bombastic buffoon to embrass your network/channel. Strike three, he’s out! He should just go sell used cars.

  2. If Current really wants ratings (and to survive) they need to get Keith in the middle of this election on the air. Once he starts going, people will start tuning in to see how crazy he really can be. Their ratings will go up dramatically. Like him or not, he can create news and Current desperately needs the publicity – good or bad.

  3. As a longtime fan of Keith, I’m really sorry to see this feuding.
He made some fearless observations about both Presidents Bush and Obama and attracted great talent to MSNBC.
