An actress most recently seen on a CBS drama has landed the lead role in another CBS project, reports Deadline.com.
Rachelle Lefevre, who has been appearing on CBS’s medical series "A Gifted Man," got the part in the drama pilot "Applebaum," the story reports. CBS TV Studios is behind both dramas.
"Applebaum" is based on a series of novels by writer Ayelet Waldman called "Mommy Track Mysteries," about a bored stay-at-home mom — a former public defender — who becomes a private eye. Feature director Chris Columbus ("Home Alone") is helming the pilot.
CBS has yet to determine the fate of "A Gifted Man," which ended its first season on Friday night. If it is not picked up, Lefevre is free to go with "Applebaum" should it get the green light.
