NBC is getting into programming for preschoolers with a new Saturday morning block, Multichannel News reports. The network announced that NBC Kids, set up in partnership with Sprout, PBS, Sesame Workshop and Apax Funds, will launch July 7.
Programming will include “The Wiggles,” “Noodle & Doodle” from Sprout, the Jim Henson show “Pajanimals,” “Poppy Cat,” “Justin Time” and “LazyTown,” the story reports.
Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in the announcement: "NBC is proud to partner with Sprout in providing progressive new programming that will entertain and encourage children to achieve more positive life choices. This is an ideal blend of entertaining shows that also offer promising benefits to the development of children on many levels."
