An actress known for her five-season run on HBO’s “Big Love” will join the CBS drama "Criminal Minds" in the fall as a series regular, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.

Jeanne Tripplehorn will replace Paget Brewster, who left after seven seasons with the show, the story reports.

Tripplehorn recently had a multi-episode role on Fox’s "New Girl." She played Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy in HBO’s “Grey Gardens,” receiving an Emmy nomination for her performance in 2009. Tripplehorn focused on feature films before finding regular TV work, with roles in “The Firm,” "Basic Instinct," “Waterworld” and other movies.

Her character will be introduced in “Criminal Minds’” eighth-season debut, the story notes.
