TV Executive Who Helped Make Snooki Famous Named President of TruTV

An executive who helped make Snooki a pop culture icon while he was at MTV has been named president of TruTV. The Los Angeles Times reports that Chris Linn, who previously was an executive vice president of MTV, got the position with the Time Warner-owned cable network.

His hiring signals that TruTV wants to aim for a younger and hipper audience. While at MTV Linn helped develop "Jersey Shore" and its spinoff "Snooki & JWoww," the story notes.

He succeeds Marc Juris, who left the role earlier this month.
