Former Fox reality executive-turned-agent Kary McHoul has left United Talent Agency.
Ms. McHoul’s departure comes less than one year after she joined UTA.
During her tenure at Fox, she was Fox Alternative President Mike Darnell’s chief lieutenant, helping to develop or produce programs such as “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” and “Hell’s Kitchen.”
When she arrived at UTA last June, Ms. McHoul teamed up with Brett Hansen to jointly run the agency’s alternative TV department. In February, CAA reality chief Michael Camacho jumped to UTA and took over as head of alternative.
Ms. McHoul could not be reached for comment. However, a UTA spokesman said she was leaving for personal reasons and that her departure was amicable.
Before working at Fox, she was a development executive at E! Entertainment Television.
