Rather, Koppel Reveal Election Night Plans

Oct 21, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Two faces long a part of Election Night in this country, former CBS anchor Dan Rather and former “Nightline” anchor Ted Koppel, will be part of the TV scene on Nov. 4, when history will be made no matter what the outcome.
Mr. Rather will be anchoring a live telecast, “Dan Rather Reports on Politics: Election Night 2008,” on HDNet starting at 7 p.m. from Washington, D.C.’s Newseum, where he’ll have a live audience. He’ll be joined by guests throughout the evening; perhaps most noteworthy to campaign junkies will be Nate Silver, the political analyst who created the addictive blog FiveThirtyEight.com.
Mr. Koppel will offer “big-picture” perspective and analysis on the BBC’s “U.S. Election Night” newscast being carried on BBC America and BBC World News in more than 200 countries around the world starting at 9 p.m. ET Nov. 4.
Originating from the BBC bureau in Washington, “U.S. Election Night” will be anchored by the BBC’s David Dimbleby and BBC America’s Matt Frei.
