MLB Network will launch Jan. 1 at 6 p.m. ET with the live, one-hour studio show “Hot Stove.”
The program will be followed by a broadcast of Don Larsen’s 1956 World Series perfect game, as called by Mel Allen and Vin Scully, with new commentary from Mr. Larsen and Yogi Berra. The broadcast will mark the first time the game has aired since its original broadcast more than 52 years ago.
The network will debut several other programs throughout January, including a Hall of Fame Election special on Jan. 12 and the documentary “Pride and Perseverance: The Story of the Negro Leagues” on Jan. 19 to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
In addition to “Hot Stove,” which will air regularly throughout the off-season weeknights at 7 p.m., MLB Network will launch the half-hour “Prime 9” on Mondays at 8 and 8:30 p.m., spotlighting the top nine in a variety of categories, and “Cathedrals of the Game” at 9 and 9:30 p.m. “Baseball Seasons” will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m., with “AL and NL Award Show” following at 9 p.m.
Home Run Derby highlights will air Thursdays at 8 p.m., while World Series highlights will air Fridays at 8 p.m.
