Ads Go Live on Kimmel

ABC is planning to integrate live commercials into “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Adweek reports. Live spots, once a staple of TV, are now seen as a way to help sponsors stand out and beat the digital video recorder and remote control. NBC’s “Tonight Show” did a live ad for Garmin last May.

  1. The more LIVE the better!
Organic, spontanious communicating…YES! Our over produced, highly edited media world has put us all to sleep.
All these years later we remember the ALPO Dog Food commercials Ed used to do on the set of the TONIGHT SHOW, or the night Johnny was spinning the Budweiser bottle and it splattered on the studio floor.
Spontaniety will put more life back into television, and will breed increased viewership.
    Go, Jimmie!
